If you want your dreams to come true, the first thing to do is wake-up.
Ahh the magic morning’s.
There’s something about the sunrise, the way the light hits the ocean, the way there’s a calmness before the busyness of the day takes over.
All those mysterious opportunities are waiting, the midday treats, the jokes (not made by me), and bump-ins with those you could not have dreamed of.
And it all starts with your morning ritual, the way you start your day will depend on whether your find the magic or not.
Don’t worry, I didn’t use to see early the morning as magical.
In fact, I’m pretty sure most people would say I’m a little grumpy and not a morning person.
Sunrise use to be met with a blasting alarm, a begrudging Dani hitting the alarm not once, twice but probably four times.
Always maximum amount of sleep and minimum time for getting ready for the day.
This was how I’d roll.
And I’d wonder why at 9am, I’d felt like most of my energy had dissipated and most of the day felt like it was gone.
So, now my mornings are something I treasure, a moment of deliciousness and quietness to just be.
They are waking when the sun rises, listening to some of my favourite tunes, drinking sweet earl grey tea and sinking deeper into the covers.
I guess it rings true if you wake up on the right side of bed, the day flows … the wrong side and you should roll back onto the right side and get out of bed again.
We have between 60,000-80,000 thoughts a day.
Make sure you start your day with the right ones.
Gratitude is amazing to get those good things flowing to you and once they start you’ll find yourself in the flow.
Don’t know what makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning?
Experiment, dabble, get excited when you hit the pavement, jump in the surf or light a candle and meditate.
If you start the day doing something you love rather than being woken by a sound and associations you dislike, chances are your life will flip.
And soon you’ll be saluting the sun.
